I’ve wanted a place of my own on the internet for a while: somewhere to think out loud about the systems I build, keep notes I’ll actually reread, and write about the things that don’t fit on a resume.
What you’ll find here
- Engineering notes — distributed systems, databases, and the infrastructure underneath.
- Things I’m learning — half-formed ideas are welcome.
- Detours — soccer, films, and a novel I’m slowly writing.
Why write at all
Writing forces the fuzzy parts of an idea into the open. If a paragraph won’t hold together, I usually didn’t understand the thing as well as I thought. That’s the whole point.
